I began learning to play the violin and piano at the age of four.  I continued my study of classical music at Kunitachi Music University in Japan, under the private mentorship of Hiroaki Oseki and Nobuko Shimada.

2015 she graduate MFA program at Cranbrook Academy of Art, 2D graphic design depertment.

Aya studied Archtecture design as a elective student in Master program.

Her new work showed at Salone del Mobile Design week in Italy, Paris D'days Design week, MoMA PS1 NYC this year. 

 

2015 she is working for Dutch Invertural in Netherlans, IKEA sweden, They Might be Giants, and collaboration project in germany.

 

​​A​ya designed package design, CD jackets, art direction, logo mark, music video for  artists, restaurants, and companies. Her works showed at the many famous galleries in Japan. In 2010, She and her​ exhibitions featured three times by Tokyo News Paper  and TV ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​program​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ as a graphic designer and an artist.​​​

 

She was born in Tokyo and studied at the Tama Art University.

 

She studied classic music as a violinist from age  4 to 18 at Kunitachi Music University. She played as a solo violin player at Youth orchestra in Hawaii age of 14, as a concertmaster and chair player Vienna Philharmonic Seifelt Quartet youth Orchestra in tokyo. perfomed as a part of orchestra at Ryuich Sakamoto NHK TV show, Hayao Miyazaki museum opening celemony, Altan concert in Tokyo. After age 18, she start to interested in connection between visual and sounds. graphic design world.

東京生まれの日本人グラフィックデザイナー、イラストレーター、アートディレクター、テキスタイルデザイナー、アーティスト。多摩美術大学グラフィックデザイン学科卒業。国立音楽大学付属高校ヴァイオリン専攻卒業。​​​​​​​​​Cranbrook Academy of Art大学院のグラフィックデザイン学部の特待生として在籍、卒業。大学院時代は副専攻として建築デザインを2年間学んだ。卒業制作は同大学美術館の永久保存作品のファイナリストとしてノミネートされた。オランダのデザインスタジオEDHV、オランダデザインチームDutchInvertiral の国外デザイナーとして所属。

 

2013年、​ニューヨークAdobeMuse のウェブチーム、クーパーユニオンのDesign of the studioにて展示。2014,2015年メルセデスベンツショー出展。2015年、ミラノ•サローネ国際家具見本市デザインウィークDutch Inverturalsの依頼を受け、ポスター等の総合ビジュアルを手掛ける。スウェーデンIKEAより2017年度のアーティストとして招待を受けている。ノルウェーで制作した作品をニューヨーク近代美術館MoMA PS1のアートブックフェアで発表、ドイツでのプロジェクトをニューヨークで同時進行制作中。

現在は東京、ニューヨーク、シカゴ、オランダ
イタリア、ドイツ、ノルウェー、フランス、スウェーデン、にて活動をしている。

 

日本の大学在学中に東京浅草寺のガイドロゴ、台東区老舗名店パッケージシリーズ、詩人谷川俊太郎氏の展示等のデザインを手掛けた。

アーティストとしての展示は、池袋サンシャインビル、代官山ヒルサイドテラス、恵比寿ガーデンヒルズ、ビックサイト、横浜赤煉瓦倉庫、浅草公会堂、サンケイビル、シカゴ EXPO、シカゴルミナルギャラリー、デトロイト現代美術館、フォーラムギャラリー、クランブルック美術館、メルセデスベンツショー、ミラノサローネ、など。

日本で制作した展示作品やパッケージデザインが東京新聞やケーブルTVで何度か特集された。
コラボレーションとしてはアニメーションや近年は家具や陶芸家とのコラボレーションを試みている。


特技として4歳から続けているバイオリンや作曲を挙げている。美大進学後はウィーンフィルの首席奏者による日本開催のワークショップオーケストラで首席コンサートミストレスを勤めた。

 

音楽経歴:国立音楽大学教授: 大関博明氏に個人師事、​MJO団員、ハワイ​​ユースオーケストラにてソリスト(14歳)、美大進学後、ウィーンフィル・ザイフェルトワークショップオーケストラにて首席コンサートミストレス、東京藝術大学音楽部バッハカンタータ演奏クラブ在籍、NHK番組坂本龍一スコラ出演など。短編映画やアニメーションの作曲、演奏等も過去に手掛けている。スタジオジブリ美術館やアルタンの日本公演など、ジュニア時代のオーケストラの一員としてエキストラ参加している。音楽とアートを組み合わせたワークショップなども東京芸術大学音楽部、CranbrookAcademicArtにて行った。
